Northern Alberta Continence Services Clinic

The Northern Alberta Continence Services Clinic offers care and treatment for patients who have incontinence, prolapse and pelvic floor dysfunction. We are located at the Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton, but we serve all of central and northern Alberta.

What to expect

At your appointment, you will receive:

• Assessment: We assess all new patients using a set of questions and a Uro-flow and bladder scan. These tests are noninvasive. They give us information to help us create your treatment plan.
• Conservative management: After your assessment, we will discuss treatment options and therapies with you. These may include changes to your diet, activities and exercise.
• Pessary fitting: If necessary, we will assess and fit you with a vaginal pessary to help you with prolapse and continence issues.

Referral

You will need a referral from your doctor or nurse practitioner to use our services. Since we are a specialty clinic, you will be discharged back to the healthcare provider who referred you after your visit.
