Healing and wholeness go beyond physical health or the aim to “fix and cure”. This presentation explores the concept of healing and supports staff to identify ways they can promote healing in their clinical work. Person-centered reflections from palliative care and music therapy encounters will further our understanding of healing at the bedside.

Sheila Killoran
Sheila Killoran, MA, MTA, FAMI, is an education lead at the Covenant Health Palliative Institute. She holds a master’s degree in creative arts therapies with a focus on imagery and grief. She teaches at the University of Alberta and the University of Saskatchewan, and has provided music therapy for 18 years at the tertiary palliative care unit of the Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton.
