Chaplain leaves lasting impact
April 11, 2022
Residents and staff at Foyer Lacombe often refer to chaplain Craig Traynor as a “shining light.”
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he provided great support to those in need, and when spirits needed to be lifted, he hosted epic singalongs, planned staff events or hung out with residents outside in the sunshine.
“Our residents looked forward to this all week and loved to sing along with him to all of their favourite songs. He always had a smile on his face, and it was contagious,” says Korley Misanchuk, a recreation therapist at the Covenant Care site in St. Albert.
After four years at Foyer Lacombe, Craig is now a chaplain at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre, but he will remember his time there.
“Foyer Lacombe is fertile soil for good health care to grow, and I have been blessed to be part of the incredible teams that continually go above and beyond to live out our values by serving everyone who comes through the door.”
