Grey Nuns Community Hospital
As one of Edmonton’s full-service hospitals, the Grey Nuns serves southeast Edmonton through a wide range of programs. This hospital is:
- Home to a rehab team that supports various outpatient programs, including plastics, neurology, vascular care, geriatrics and orthopedics
- A designated acute stroke centre
- The site of the Northern Alberta Vascular Centre
Misericordia Community Hospital
A cornerstone of west Edmonton health services, the Misericordia is full of opportunities for aspiring rehab practitioners. A few of its special features include:
- Unique inpatient units and programs, including orthopedics and the geriatric assessment unit (a short-stay rehab program)
- A rehab medicine department that supports many outpatient services, including wound care, an ALS clinic, plastics and general musculoskeletal
- Virtual programs, including the osteoporosis and post-surgical breast cancer programs
Villa Caritas
Villa Caritas is the only stand-alone acute geriatric psychiatry centre in Canada, offering one-of-a-kind opportunities for rehab professionals. This specialized 150-bed hospital:
- Serves patients living with complex psychosocial and psychiatric conditions, including dementia
- Has an interdisciplinary care team dedicated to holistic care
- Offers individual and group therapy with a patient-centred focus
