Safe surrender of infants
Covenant Health offers havens, called Angel Cradles, where newborns can be safely abandoned.
Our Angel Cradle program offers a safe place where parents in need can surrender a newborn.
Leaving a baby in the Angel Cradle is not a criminal offence. We will not try to locate the parents of the baby left. Instead, we will examine the baby and contact Children’s Services to arrange for someone to provide care. We will only report the baby’s surrender if there are signs of abuse.
