Out of scope associate physicians
Every Covenant Health site has employees who are not part of a bargaining unit. These employees are considered out of scope. Your position is covered under the Addendum for Associate Physicians out of Scope Employee Terms and Conditions of Employment. Make sure you are familiar with this document.
Once you have network access, you can also refer to Policies and Procedures on CompassionNet for policies applicable to out of scope employees.
Benefits
If you are eligible, you must enroll in benefit offerings within the first 31 days of initial eligibility as per your employee grouping. We will notify you through your Covenant Health email when you can elect benefits.

Probation period
All employees will be required to serve a six month probationary period after both successful completion of the limited practice licensure requirements and receiving active registration through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).

Transfer of entitlements
You may be eligible to transfer entitlements between Covenant Health and Covenant Care or Covenant Health and Alberta Health Services (AHS) if you are ending your current position with your other employer and have accepted an FTE position with Covenant Health.
You may be eligible to port the following provided you terminate from AHS:
- Vacation accrual date only
- Sick leave
